Soren Peterson and Whitney Chambers are wed on the beach
Robert
and Carole Peterson announce the marriage of their son, Soren Michael
Peterson, to Whitney Jayne Chambers on June 9, 2009. The ceremony was
held on a perfect evening on the beach in front of their home in Avon.
Rev. Jay Bowman officiated. After photographs on the beach by Julie
Dreelin of Beach Productions, dinner was served at the Peterson home,
Sanctuary. The dinner was catered by The Catering Company of Frisco.
Soren and Whitney will make their home in Indiana.

Louis Buttke and Karen Snyder wed in Bahamas
On March 6, a typical gorgeous day on the white sand beach at Cape
Santa Maria, Long Island, Bahamas, wedding vows were exchanged by Louis
(Bud) Buttke
of Frisco and Karen Snyder of Salvo. The Rev. Mark R. Lindsay-Fox
officiated.
Bud is the owner of Hatteras Originals in Frisco, and Karen owns Snyder Home Beautifying in Salvo.
The wedding was hosted by Bernie and Karen Tetreault of Avon and Cape
Santa Maria. Tom and Mary Buttke of Kitty Hawk, the bridegroom's son
and daughter in law were the honor attendants. Karen and Bernie were
flower lady and ring bearer respectively.
The couple found that love is special at any age or stage in life. They
will reside in Frisco with their two Great Danes, Coco and Splash.
A special feature of the wedding was the bride's bouquet and the
bridegroom's boutonniere made by Ann Knowles, a Bahamian artist, out of
seashells, coconut husk, and bamboo, which will be a beautiful souvenir
for them to keep at their home.
A reception was held at the Cape Santa Maria Resort where the couple also honeymooned.

Christinia Ballance and Jeremy Hicks wed on Dec. 31
Bill and Chris Ballance of Hatteras announce the marriage of their
daughter, Christinia Ballance, to Jeremy Hicks, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Steven Hicks of Crossnore, N.C. The wedding took place on New Year's
Eve at the Hatteras United Methodist Church with a reception that
followed at the Civic Center. Christinia is continuing veterinary
school at North Carolina State University in Raleigh and will graduate
in May of 2010. She plans to return to Hatteras to follow her
profession. Jeremy is employed by "Bite Me" sportfishing in
Hatteras.
