Avon’s first and only mobile auto repair shop

“My Mechanic at the Beach,” on Hatteras Island, is Avon’s first and only mobile auto and truck repair shop.

Formerly located in Buxton near Cape Hatteras Secondary School, mechanic Brian Jones left his shop and is now servicing directly from his auto repair van.

“We offer the same quality services, but now we come directly to you. No more towing or driving to the repair shop,” said Brian.  “It’s more convenient for the customer and since our overhead is much less, we can offer fairer, more competitive prices.  We are very excited to be the first mobile auto repair shop in Avon.”

“My Mechanic at the Beach” services all of Hatteras Island and offers on-site brake service, oil changes, computer diagnostics, roadside assistance and more.  They also provide beach towing.

For questions or more information, please contact Brian and Evelyn Jones, 252-995-7008 or 252-489-8023.

Frisco Sandwich Co. is now open

One of Hatteras Island’s newest food destinations is Frisco Sandwich Co on Highway 12 in Frisco, which opened in June.

“After just one week and 700 sandwiches sold, we think it will be a great summer,” said co-owner and chef, Tracy Morris.

Co-owner Joe Thompson said, “After several months of intense work the experience of witnessing people enjoying, smiling, and laughing is what has made the long journey so worthwhile.”

Frisco Sandwich Co. is located across from Ramp 49. The business serves hot and cold sandwiches and everything in-between.  They also have a selection of sliced meats and cheeses or pre-ordered party platters.  The business also does catering.
